Overview

The site of Highfields golf and Country Club was the heart the Magill family dairy farm. John Magill being an avid golfer had a vision to turn these pastures and woods into an 18 hole championship golf course. With his steely determination, alongside his son Jay, the duo worked tirelessly with Mugeam, Cornish golf design to create one of New England’s premier golf courses. Together they took advantage of the lay of the land, clearing, excavating, grading and seeding all tee boxes, fairways and greens. Highfield’s opened in 2002 as an instant success: designed to appeal to golfers of all abilities.

In 2005 John and Jay began laying out the plans and started constructing the new 30,000 square foot club house. Considered the jewel of Highfields, this Club house features a fully stocked pro shop as well as housing for our fleet of golf carts. The J & J Tavern serves pub style fare as well as fantastic views of the 18 green, putting and chipping areas. The Claddagh Room is perfect to host weddings and social occasions. Our dedication and attention to detail will allow everyone to relax and enjoy your event.

History is still being made at Highfield’s Golf & Country Club!
